Frequently Asked Questions.
Is the course live?
No. This is a self-paced course with pre-recorded video lessons you can watch anytime. Pause to set up your scene, practice each movement, and apply what you learn to your own animations. You can revisit any lesson whenever you need a refresher.
Can I buy the course as a gift for someone?
Yes, absolutely! Choose the one-time payment option and select “Send as a gift” at checkout. You can send the gift email immediately or schedule it for a specific date, so your recipient can start their stop-motion journey at just the right moment.
Why should I start this journey with you?
I’ve been animating professionally for over 30 years, with credits including ParaNorman, Kubo and the Two Strings, and Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, alongside CG cinematics for Blizzard’s Overwatch, World of Warcraft, and Hearthstone. Today, I run Stunt Puppet Pictures, creating stop-motion shorts.
This course brings together everything I wish someone had shown me on day one. I’ll guide you from setting up your camera and lights to creating movement, showing weight, and bringing personality to your characters through hands-on exercises.
For how long will I have access to the course?
The course is yours to keep! You’ll have lifetime access to the lessons, so you can watch them as many times as you like and return to the exercises as your skills grow. There’s no recurring subscription fee.
Are registrations for the course open?
Registration is currently closed. Follow me on social media for updates about future enrollment opportunities and more stop-motion inspiration.
Is this course suitable for beginners?
Yes! You don’t need any previous animation experience. We’ll start with your setup, tools, and Dragonframe basics, then explore timing, spacing, and movement through simple exercises. Step by step, you’ll progress from animating a bouncing ball to character poses, walks, jumps, and expressive performances.
Can I take the course at my own pace?
Absolutely. Watch the lessons on your mobile phone, laptop, or tablet whenever it suits you. Take your time with each exercise, replay demonstrations, and build your animation skills around your own schedule.
Will I have support during the course if I get stuck?
Yes. If you have questions or need clarification on a lesson or exercise, you can get in touch through the contact form, email, or Instagram. Whether you’re working through timing, character posing, or a tricky movement, you can reach out for guidance.
